Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels at Le Celle

Chemical peels work by accelerating the body’s natural skin cell renewal process. A series of chemical peels can help to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, scars, fine lines and other signs of aging. Peels can also minimize acne breakouts and improve the overall tone and texture of your skin.

Le Celle offers a variety of medical strength chemical peels to help you to achieve your skin care goals. Dr. Terry and your licensed skin care professional will work with you to ensure you receive the most appropriate, safe and effective treatment for your skin type. It is recommended to start with less aggressive peels to allow your skin to build a tolerance and progressively increase the strength of the peel. This helps to achieve optimal results and will train your skin to recover faster. Although Retinoic acid does help to prepare the skin for chemical peeling, it is not a replacement for a starter peel. Lighter peels also allow your skin care specialist to see how your skin reacts and help to determine the next level of treatment that is right for your skin type. This will give you the safest and most effective results.

Glycolic Peel  $85 each  or  3 for $195

(Starter or Maintenance Peel)

Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid derived from sugar cane. Lower strength peels are recommended on naïve skin and to prepare the skin for more aggressive peels including Salicylic, Jessner’s , TCA and stronger glycolic peels. It is also safe for most dark skin tones and for maintaining the results of achieved skincare goals. Higher strengt glycolic peels produce more redness and irritation. Both leave your skin feeling smoother and more vibrant. Glycolics in general do not tend to cause peeling, and most often produce a few days of redness and mild flaking.

Salicylic Peel  $85 each  or  3 for $195

Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) with a much smaller molecule than glycolic acid. Salicylic acid tends to be more irritating due to its smaller molecular size.  Preparing the skin with glycolic peeling prior to treatments with Salicylic is recommended. Salicylic acid effectively treats oily and acne- prone skin due to its high solubility in oil. Salicylic acid penetrates clogged pores, dissolves oil and sebum, clears active breakouts and prevents future breakouts. It also decreases acne scarring. ****Salicylic acid is a derivative of aspirin, so patients with an aspirin sensitivity cannot receive this peel.

Jessner’s Peel  $85 each  or  3 for $195

Jessner’s solution is a combination of resorcinol, salicylic acid, and lactic acid. It is very effective in reversing signs of aging, scarring and decreasing hyperpigmentation. Preparing the skin with a lighter peel, such as a glycolic acid peel is recommended. You may experience more peeling, redness and/or flaking than other peels with Jessner’s. Improvement in skin tone is usually seen 1-2 weeks following treatment.  ****Salicylic acid is a derivative of aspirin, so patients with an aspirin sensitivity cannot receive this peel.

TCA/ Trichloracetic Acid Peel  starting at $150

TCA Peels are similar to Jessner’s peels in terms of recommended pre-treatment, more downtime post-treatment and in its clinical applications. TCAs are safe for most skin types. A TCA peel can produce a light peel to a medium depth peel, depending on the desired results and amount of downtime.

Lactic Acid Peel  $85 each  or  3 for $195

Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid derived from milk. It enhances your natural glow by providing gentle exfoliation and hydration to the skin. It is

safe for all skin types and the only peel recommended in treating clients with  rosacea.
