Le Celle uses the latest laser and light technology for comfortable, safe and effective treatment of unwanted facial and body hair. All skin tones can be treated safely and effectively.

The innovative cooling design uses a sapphire cooling plate and scanner to continuously remove heat from the skin for maximum comfort, safety and efficiency.

What areas can be treated?

Pigmented hair on the face, legs, bikini area, arms, underarms, and back are the most common areas for laser hair reduction. Sensitive areas like the chest and nipples can also be treated. Blond and gray hairs are more difficult to treat than darker, pigmented hair.

What do the laser treatments feel like?

Mild pinching or stinging is the most commonly described sensation felt during a laser hair reduction treatment. Local anesthesia or pain medication is NOT typically required. Some patients may prefer to use a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are being treated.

How many treatments will I need?

Most areas require 6 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart. The number of treatments required for optimal long-term benefits depends on factors such as hair color and density, the area being treated, and the hair’s growth cycle. Not all hairs are actively growing at the same time. The laser works by destroying the hair follicle during the active growth phase. Hair grows more in sync with repeated treatments, so timing your visits at regular intervals is important to obtaining maximum results.

What happens after each treatment? Are there any restrictions ?

Immediately following your treatment you may experience some redness and swelling of the skin, similar to a mild sunburn. These effects typically last for several hours or less. If any prolonged redness or swelling occurs, consult your physician. Avoiding exposure of the treatment area to sun and hot temperatures, such as a jacuzzi or sauna, for at least 24 hours after treatment is advised. Keep the area clean and as always use sunscreen.

One to two week after your treatment you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment, and are not regrowing. With each treatment the hair will grow slower, more sparse and finer.

Between treatments you may shave but you should not wax or tweeze the hair in the area being treated.

What are the possible side effects?

Slight reddening and local swelling of the skin, similar to a mild sunburn may occur in some patients. These effects typically last for several hours or less. In rare instances, blistering may occur. Consult with your medical professional for complete information on the benefits and risks of treatment.

How does laser hair reduction compare with other hair removal methods?

Shaving, waxing, and depilatory creams are all temporary methods of hair removal which must be repeated frequently to maintain results. Lasers offer permanent hair reduction for lasting results.

How do Sciton lasers compare with other hair removal lasers?

The Sciton ClearScan has a unique cooling plate that cools the skin before, during and after treatment to maximize patient comfort and safety. The computerized scanner also provides faster, safer and a more uniform treatment.

How does the laser work?

The longer wavelength of the Sciton ClearScan selectively targets the deeper melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle. As the superficial skin is cooled, the laser bypasses the epidermal melanin or skin pigment.

Who is not a candidate for laser hair removal treatments?

Laser hair removal is contraindicated in those with a hypersensitivity to light. Certain medications such as Accutane increase light sensitivity. Those with suspicious pigmented lesions in the treatment area or very recent tanning or sun exposure should not be treated. Gray and blond hairs do not respond well to treatment since the hair does not have pigment for the laser to target.

How much does a treatment cost?

Prices vary by the area and start at $75.  Discounts are offered for packages.
